Holidays Around The World

The celebration of HATW 2010 was a spectacular event that was enjoyed by youth, staff and community members. Guests had the opportunity to sample dishes after our Shiloh youth prepared meals and information about various countries and their holidays. Guests were also able to explore and learn about Japanese New Years Day, Russian Orthodox Christmas, Germanys' Carnival Day, the Netherlands, Peru, Ireland, Spain, as well as History of Christmas in the United States. Presentations of interest such as the origins of Santa, the secrets of Christmas Elves, how Christmas celebrations have changed through the years, and the significance of Holly in Christmas decorations. In addition to all of wonderful food and festivities, Shiloh House hosted a silent auction, where hand made greeting cards & ornaments that clients crafted for the event were among some of the items sold. We are so grateful for our generous supporters and to our friends at Church for All Nations for the use of their facilities for this special event.
