25th Anniversary Celebration

Shiloh kicked off its holiday season with its largest celebration ever. It was the Silver Anniversary Banquet, celebrating 25 years of restoring youth and families in the greater Colorado community.

Due to an increase in interest and participants, Shiloh moved to a new location this year to celebrate the organization and its years of service. The banquet took place on November 6 at the PPA Event Center in Denver, Shiloh's largest and most spacious venue ever for the annual event and fundraiser. We were fortunate to be graced with the presence of several key-note speakers, each lending their perspective and experiences with Shiloh's mission and boys. After the initial get together and mingling of guests, our event proceeded with a delicous dinner provided by Rocky Mountain Catering, keynote speakers, live auction, and dancing.

Featured speakers included:

  • Dave Aguilera - CBS Channel 4 News
  • Johnny Martinez - Former Shiloh client
  • Larry Douglas - President of Access Media Group
  • Steven Ramirez - CEO & Co-founder of Shiloh Home
  • Michael Ramirez - Colorado Department of Education
  • Vicki Ramirez - COO & Co-founder of Shiloh Home

Dave Aguilera was our emcee for the evening leading our discussions, introducing our speakers and providing the humor. Johnny Martinez, a former Shiloh client, spoke from the heart about his life journey and the influence Shiloh had on restoring his life. It was simply put, a deeply moving speech reminding us of the power we have to help and the role Shiloh plays with at-risk youth.

Larry Douglas, the President of Access Media Group, assembled a 15 minute video presentation about Shiloh depicting the work and meaning behind Shiloh's mission. Several members of the Shiloh staff were interviewed in the video segment and talked about their personal experiences help and counseling youth faced with adversity and trauma. Throughout the night, Steven and Vicki Ramirez led as the ambassadors of Shiloh House to our greater community, explaining, sharing, and teaching about the work of the organization.

As the event was Shiloh's largest celebration in its history, it was also a networking and fundraising success, garnering thousands in revenue for the organization and further extending our community network of volunteers and stakeholders. The event at its core was a reminder of the key characteristic of Shiloh House - Community. It's what we are. It's where we are.
